These are the thoughts that you are explicitly aware of having: what you would answer if asked "What are you thinking of now?". The conscious mind is extremely powerful, allowing us to think rationally and logically, but it is also limited. In particular, your conscious system of thought likes to have a single model of the world and is really bad at probability. Contrast with subconscious reactions.
